OVERVIEW AND ROLE
The Green Hydrogen facility marked our debut in the renewable energy sector, representing the firm's initial foray into 3D development for this industry. Unlike prior plant models, this simulation was built entirely from scratch, without a 2D predecessor.
Serving as lead 3D artist for the first time, I was responsible for asset production while maintaining deep technical collaboration with engineers. I executed frequent environmental iterations to guarantee that every piece of machinery was correctly placed and fully accessible within a VR workspace.
Key project challenges included designing a layout navigable in both PC first-person and VR modes. We iterated on the pipework to add equipment and address initial design oversights, which also required adjusting the support frames.
The project also required the creation of several new models that couldn't be sourced, including a PEM Electrolyser for the warehouse interior. Efficient time management was essential to these bespoke assets alongside the broader environment and keep the schedule on track.
