OVERVIEW AND ROLE
As our second renewable energy initiative, this project expanded beyond linking 2D and 3D simulations to focus fully on immersive training modules for workplace safety, routine maintenance, and standardized equipment operation.
Using technical diagrams and web references, I developed the environment and a detailed wind turbine model complete with internal mechanisms. I worked alongside a lead developer who managed player logic and animations.
Due to model complexity, we gathered detailed references across key components before selecting a specific turbine make and model. We imported a placeholder model into 3ds Max to establish a clear asset pipeline for assembly and animation in Unity.
Standardizing each turbine component around a base-center pivot enabled independent development and export, preventing workflow bottlenecks.
After adjusting scale and placing key features like ladders, platforms, and the interior nacelle, I focused on model creation while collaborating closely with my colleague to integrate feedback and refine existing assets.
